With frequent showings, often at inconvenient times, we know it might seem impossible to live a NORMAL life while your home is on the market, but here are a few tips to help minimize the disruption.
Toss or Donate anything you don’t need before listing your home.
This will eliminate clutter and less is always more when it comes to stuff laying around while showing your home.
Find a spot for keeping valuables
You’ll have peace of mind knowing your valuables are safely tucked away during showings.
Keep it tidy
We know this is easier said than done, especially with children and pets, but remind yourself this level of tidy is only for a brief time while your home is on the market.
Pack a “go bag”
Pack a bag with anything you might need (laptop, snacks, toys, etc) if you need to leave with short notice and stay out of the house for a couple of hours.
Have a plan for pets
Plan on taking your beloved furry friend along for the ride when you leave, or perhaps a neighbor or pet sitter can pick them up for the showing.
Make a “showing checklist”
Make a list of last minute things to do just before a showing. Open your blinds, fluff the pillows, turn on the lights, get those dishes out of the sink. All these last minute details go a long way to making a good first impression on buyers!
